Iaşi Palace of Culture

The Palace has four different museums as well as civic offices in it. It is immaculate. The hallways and bathrooms are without flaw and spotless, as was the history museum in Bucharest.

In this case „Moldavia“ means the state of Romania, rather than the country.

Here are the exhibits on WW II and the Revolution that I was looking for in Bucharest! I am excited, until I read the panels and discover all the text is in Romanian, with no English translation.

Several of the rooms of the museum have floors that are completely of glass, allowing you to look down and see the 15th Century foundations of the building. Two older women in front of me carefully and uncomfortably creep across the floor, which amuses me until I too am out on the glass. It’s thick glass, but the effect is really disconcerting! It’s pretty cool. Sometimes historians are just the neatest people.
